If you don't complain when they do something against what you want, they will never change. These are people that love their jobs, for many different reasons, and will do what they need to do to get re-elected. If enough people complain, they will get the message. There have to be more people complaining than lobyists donating to their re-election campaigns. If you don't say anything, the lobbyists get what they want and it may not be what you want.

Note that an email message is virtually useless. Send a letter or call them. When you call, you will get one of their interns. Don't be afraid to tell them exactly what you think. Be prepared for their email or postal response to be a boilerplate form letter that may not even come close to addressing your concerns. The interns are not paid anything and are mostly worth that much. Be sure to remember your treatment when it comes time to vote again.
